The role of OrbitProbe
OrbitProbe provides a venue where a seller and a buyer can find each other and record an agreement. OrbitProbe is not the seller or the buyer, is not a broker acting for either side, does not hold or move money, does not transfer domains and does not act as an escrow agent. No payment or escrow service is connected at this time. When one is connected, these rules will be updated before it is used.
Who may list
You may list only a domain that you are entitled to sell. Before a listing can be submitted you must pass a DNS control check: you publish a TXT record that we give you, and we look it up on public resolvers. The check shows that you controlled the DNS zone at that moment. It does not establish legal ownership, and OrbitProbe does not describe any seller as a verified owner. A verified phone number is also required to list. Every listing is reviewed by an administrator before it becomes public, and may be declined.
Listing content
Listings must be accurate. Do not claim traffic, revenue or rankings you cannot support. Do not put contact details in a listing or ask buyers to deal outside the marketplace. Do not list domains that infringe trademarks or other rights, that were obtained unlawfully, or that are used for phishing, malware or other abuse. We may pause or remove a listing, with a reason, and we keep an audit record of moderation decisions.
Offers and agreements
An offer is a serious proposal to buy at the stated amount, in the listing’s currency. Offers expire seven days after they are sent. Either side may counter, the author of an offer may withdraw it while it is pending, and the other side may accept or decline. Accepting an offer records an agreement between the buyer and the seller and reserves the listing. It does not take payment and does not transfer the domain: the parties complete the sale between themselves, and we strongly recommend a reputable domain escrow service.
Fees
The fee figures shown in the workspace (a seller commission and an optional buyer assistance fee) are demonstration rates. OrbitProbe charges nothing today. Real fees will be published here, with notice, before they apply.
Suspension
Accounts that break these rules may be suspended. A suspended account cannot create listings or offers. Existing agreements are not cancelled automatically, but an administrator may cancel an agreement and will record the reason.
