What is .tv?
.tv is the country-code top-level domain of Tuvalu, a Pacific island nation. The match with the abbreviation for television made it attractive to broadcasters, streaming channels and video creators, and the commercial operation of the registry is licensed out by the government.
Who can register it
Open to anyone worldwide; there is no requirement to be located in Tuvalu.
WHOIS, RDAP and privacy
An RDAP service for .tv (rdap.nic.tv) is published in the IANA RDAP bootstrap file. OrbitProbe reads registration data from it first, as structured JSON: registrar, creation and expiry dates, EPP status codes and nameservers. For ccTLDs, what is published is decided by the registry and local law rather than by ICANN, so output differs from one extension to the next. Most registries do not show the personal data of individuals in public output. OrbitProbe only ever shows the organisation name and country.
