LiveSource: Team Cymru IP-to-ASN (DNS)Observed:
The country shown for an AS number or an IP prefix is where it is registered, not where a server stands. Large networks announce the same addresses from many countries.
Check which network a domain is in
The IP lookup resolves a domain, then shows the AS number, prefix and network name of each address. Addresses in AS2856 link back to this page.
FAQ
What is AS2856?
An autonomous system number: the identifier under which one network announces its IP prefixes to the rest of the internet. The live box shows who AS2856 is registered to, when the lookup succeeds.
How do I find the AS number of a domain?
Resolve the domain to its A and AAAA records and look up each address. OrbitProbe’s IP lookup does both and shows the AS number, the announced prefix and the network name for every address.
Does the country of an AS number show where the server is?
No. It is the country in which the number is registered, not a location of any server.
